The Chancellor has announced an increase in duty on still & sparkling wine which will come into effect for IPP customers on 12/02/2019.
The rates have risen with inflation at a rate of 3.1% – calculated using the RPI estimate from October 2018 provided by the Office of Budget Responsibility.
This means;
- Duty on a 75cl bottle of still wine increases by 7p to £2.23
- Duty on a 75cl bottle of sparkling wine increases by 9p to £2.86
- Duty on a 75cl bottle of fortified wine increases by 9p to £2.98
Please note: all duty levels vary according to bottle size and alcohol strength.
